Dish vs. TV Networks: Attorneys Readying Showdown Over Auto Hop
Lawyers are lining up to represent TV broadcasters in what most believe is an inevitable legal confrontation over the satellite provider's device that allows subscribers to watch programming without commercials.
I’m surprised to read this headline because one of my co-workers at Dish keeps raving about the Auto Hop and PrimeTime Anytime features on the Hopper. Mine will be installed this weekend, and the fact that it’s a whole-home HD DVR already has me very excited to have it in my home. Since I’m usually busy with taking the kids to swim lessons and play dates, and then cooking dinner, I have no time to sit down and check out what’s on TV. I’m looking forward to PrimeTime Anytime recording primetime shows from the four major networks so that I can actually get into TV shows that I’m always hearing about. As for watching these recordings without commercials, I was planning to do that anyway with my fast-forward button. Who doesn’t now days?
